Honored guests, competitors of the 14th SAR Dog World Championship, welcome to Samobor and to the Republic of Croatia.
First of all I would like to thank the IRO for granting the town of Samobor the great honor by choosing it as the host for the 14th IRO SAR Dog World Championship.
It is a well known belief that one of the best deals that man has ever made is the one he made with dogs; a deal in which man gives dogs his free time, available space and some love, and the dogs give back their entire beings. It is this very attachment, unconditional loyalty, obedience and remarkable love between dogs and their owners, unified by the most noble cause- helping humans in dire trouble- that will be demonstrated to all citizens and visitors of Samobor from 30th of June to 6th of July this year.
I am certain that alongside the many traditional public, economic, sports and culture events that our town is rich with during the entire year, the program of the 14th IRO SAR Dogs World Championship will take an eminent place, and that our Town, with it's cultural and historical core, gorgeous surroundings as well as the famous and admired gastronomical offer will be an excellent host.
I wish good luck to the entire organizing team, a successful competition to the dog handlers and their dogs and to all the guests of Samobor I wish that their sojourn in our Town stays as a lasting beautiful and dear recollection so that they will visit us again.
